Speaking Programs

1. Creating Novelty Phalaenopsis for Color and Fragrance - Current popular program. This was revised and delivered to various orchid societies with great feedback. This program spends 25 minutes to introduce desirable traits of novelty phalaenopsis and 25 minutes on how to grow them successfully.
2. Phalaenopsis Species - This program was developed for Coalition for Orchid Species to discuss desirable traits of various phalaenopsis species. This presentation also points out differences in growing phalaenopsis species vs hybrid, and gives practical growing tips.
3. Phalaenopsis - Color Galore - This program was created for International Phalaenopsis Alliance 17 symposium. We discussed novelty phalaenopsis hybridizing that result in colorful flowers. This program looked at using proven phalaenopsis parent that result in hybrids that are awarded by American Orchid Society.

2012 Orchid Shows and Events

• March 31 - April 1, 2012 Saturday and Sunday - Fort Worth Orchid Society plant sale at Fort Worth Botanical Garden Setup will be on Friday, March 30 from 8:30am-5:00pm. The theme is "Everything Coming Up Orchids". This year, the Fort Worth Botanic Gardens will again be hosting "Butterflies in the Garden"
• April 28-29, 2012 Heart O' Texas Orchid Society's 41st Annual Show & Sale, "Orchid Heaven" Zilker Botanical Gardens Center 2220 Barton Springs Road, Austin, TX 78746 (512) 413-3199 Set-up will be on Friday, April 27th from 12:00pm-5:00pm Show & Plant Sale: 10:00am - 5:00pm Saturday & 10:00am - 4:00pm Sunday.
•  May 18-20, 2012 Friday-Sunday 16th Annual Redland International Orchid Festival at Fruit & Spice Park 24801 SW 187th Ave. Homestead, FL
