Hello!
I'd like to make some keikis of a species that has evergreen flower spikes; is there any particular way of doing this? It's a cochlearis that has a few flower spikes and a new one coming along, so one spike could be sent to a lab if needed.
thanks,
charles

Charles -

One of the concern in doing stem prop is contamination. There are species with 'evergreen' spikes. However - it would be wise to select fresh stem, one that is recently developed. Best time to remove spike is after the opening of first flower.
