For my Phals I am using ALT bulbs, either MR16 7 watt 40 degree or BR30 15 watt 60 degree beam angles. By PAR measurement (Apogee) it is not taking that much photon flux to get growth and blooming. It is possible that the fairly vertically oriented beam angles of the these bulbs is a factor. I am also blooming Cattleya, Neofinetias, Paphs, and Phrags with different variations of bulbs and different heights depending on how much light you are trying to deliver.

I don't think all LEDs are the same, I think beam angles matter and so does the spectrum. All of my bulbs are natural white (about 4000 K).

I have grown only under LED lights now for over 4 years in an indoor plant room.
