Post subject:  Hello from the Mountains of Western NC

Hi,
By all rights I am a novice compared to most but not a total rookie with Phal orchids. I have had the same few Phals over the years and with southeast facing tinted windows, plenty of shade trees and watching my watering, I have been able to have them re-bloom almost every spring. I currently have the ones that have finished blooming on an outdoor
plant stand catching morning tree filtered light.
I recently decided to increase my orchid population and bought my first Peter Lin Phal on Ebay. I then found the website here and bought several more. I have received all the plants from Peter in great shape and they look really nice. I am a fan of variegated leafed Phals.
I wanted to join the forum with hopes of learning more about raising Phals. I probably have more questions about them then I could possibly give anyone good advice.

Likewise, welcome. You've found a trustworthy, knowledgeable and incessantly hard-working supplier in Peter. Don't ever hesitate to ask a question on this forum...someone here will probably know the answer. Plus this is not a "gossipy" forum like some -- everyone treats each other here with respect and support toward a better collection and better growing.

Thank you all for the welcome. My placing of the orchids outdoors is new for me but I am making sure
they only get only some filtered sunlight through the trees.
I also am experimenting with semi-hydroponic repotting of my strongest and oldest Phals using hydroton clay pellets.
it's interesting to me and I hope it works.
