Ah, the ol' Grand Damsel. I remember the first time I saw this. Then again, I also remember the first thawing from the first Ice Age, so I remember a lots of stuff.

I envy your collection of such things, Randy. Do you have one of its seedlings, Mem. Roslyn Reisman 'Mendenhall'? In not, there are a couple folks who have it and it is worth having -- tall stems, four very "sparkling" dark, dark purple flowers per stem and, oddly, usually all four face away from each other rather than crowd on the stem. I think you would enjoy it. I believe it was bred from the original plant of 'Sparkling Burgundy' for certain.

Randy, how long ago did you get this from H&R ? I don't see it in their 2018 price list.

Walton, I'll look for the Roselyn, I've never seen it.

Peter, H and R doesn't have Elizabeth Off, I got it from Florida. First bloom for me, should get better.

Peter --
If you want the original plant, I think that David Off may have it.

Randy --
Look back to your 1980's Carter and Holmes catalogues: I had an accurate picture of it in those catalogues. I'll try to see if Gene has a digital version available. Gene and I have always regretted not using it more as a parent.

Hi Randy,
My mistake. Your comment of getting it from H&R was for C. violacea semi alba flamea.

Peter, yes, the violacea came from H and R at a local show.
