Rhyncholaeliocattleya Gene Crocker
(Rhyncholaeliocattleya Newberry Delight X Cattleya Newberry Promise)
I bought this as a seedling November 2010. At the time, Gene told me that this would be a good hybrid. I bloomed it before and it is a beautiful red. I don't believe this is fragrant. 8 years later - this plant is still around. Last year I had this plant outside but brought it indoor now that winter is here. A week ago I saw the 3 flowers on one pseudobulb. I wasn't impressed. But today I saw the 2 new, larger flowers with better form, I am happy again. And I regret that I did not take better care of it. Oh well, Maybe next year.

I don't see how you get a Catt to grow in one of those soft plastic pots. I don't have much experience with Catts, but the few I have won't do anything unless they are clamped down with a rhizome clip and held snug in place. I wouldn't think one of those soft pots would make it happy and stable enough.
