I did ask Home Depot and Menards and must have asked the wrong people, told it was a special order only item. Of course they didnt seem to certain they even knew what I was talking about.

I'll take a photo of the tag next time I'm at Home Depot and post it here.

Just curious.... How many lights and they are t5s or 8a? I have 6 cfl between 250 and 300 watts each and my FCs are only about 600 by the plants with the bulbs being less than 8 inches Away. Is my light meter broke or did you mis read? I ask because your. And my setup are similar but our foot candle readings are Way off. Thanks. Jon

I used two 3' HO T5's per level.

Are you sure about the wattage or are those labeled as equivalent to that many watts incandescent? Looking at Home Depot's site, a 300W equivalent that I see there is actually a 68W bulb with brightness of 4200 lumens. I'm not aware of any CFL bulbs higher that 250 actual watts. I have a fixture with a 125 watt CFL and another with a 200 watt; both require a 'mogul' socket.

All the bulbs I have are FELIZ CFLs, specifically made for plant growing. the bulbs are actually 250 and 300 watts each, NOT equivelant. I guess I need to add some T5 VHOs to my set up?

Oh, that's good to know. I think I'd like to change up my 200W CFL for a 300W, if I can find it online. I use the 200W CFL in a Hydrofarm fixture above my Vanda corner, with the spillover serving as supplemental light to an adjacent small table of Phals (which is set back about 5' from a southern window).

I think your light meter may be off. I'm seeing about 2000 fc at approximate 8 inches directly below a 6500K 200W CFL.
