Update

Unfortunately I had to cut off the capsule on stuartiana... It was obvious it was dead :(
Now I'm hoping that the capsule on Mini Mark keeps growing...

I'm a bit sad, it's really not as easy as I thought before... taking a toothpick and putting some pollen to another orchid  ;)

Update - unfortunately I couldn't harvest a ripe seed capsule - they died or were empty...

Suppose I have to start all over again... :(

Awwwwww, that stinks! :( to bad, as that Mini Mark x lueddemanniana sounded great. My tetraspis 'C#1' just bloomed, so I once I take it for show and tell at my OS in a week, I plan on using pollen from my Penang Girl on it, so I hope that takes. I also have a lobbii that will bloom soon, so I might also use Penang Girl pollen on that, or I might use tetraspis pollen. I hope they work!

Don't be discouraged, Sylvi. Failed pods are definitely in the minority in the long run, as long as you use fertile pollen (pollen from diploids or tetraploids). Try again!

Lou, thank's again for your encouraging words!

I tried again, I used pollen from our green braceana. Put it on violacea and vice versa - now we'll see what I get...
There's also the 5 open wilsonii flowers and I'm thinking about what to try... Soon our first Phal. parishii 'purple lip' buds will open and I love crosses with the broad parishii / lobbii lip - but as always I don't have any information about ploidity and chances for a positive outcome...
Maybe I just make a list of what's in bloom right now 8)

Update

First results after 3 weeks:

Phal. violacea just lost the flower, didn't take the braceana pollen.
I already feared that braceana wouldn't take either but look at this:

Looks promising. Swelling is a good sign!

You know it's a great forum when you search for "bellina" and it returns this from the server:
"The following words in your search query were ignored because they are too common words: bellina."

Sylvi, that looks good. Violacea and especially bellina have been the least receptive species for me also.

Thank's Lou :D

I also put Phal. equestris on Phal. Mini Mark (as pod) - to try to remake Phal. Tricky Woo - but I'm almost sure that won't work...was just for fun ;)
