Fat lateral sepals came from Joy Spring Canary which has two doses of Phal Gelblieber.

Here's a new picture. The plant has 3 new spikes this year. Its pretty vigorous. The brown/red areas are a little more red and they are more defined. Its getting harder and harder to let go of this one. ;)

Thanks Ben. I am still waiting to flower more of this hybrid to see the deep golden yellow effect of Phal Golden Pride.

I took the picture below to show the deep golden yellow of Phal Golden Pride 'Riverside' to a large fading yellow. It's not a good picture because Phal Golden Pride looks great in person. Nonetheless, I like a flower better when its yellow age with time, rather than fading to white.

haha.. thanks for sending it to me. It's a big plant - I have a few buds on the other 2 spikes. I repotted it late so now I am wondering if it could have flowered better.

I don't like the narrow petals - but that's due to Phal Golden Pride's star shape. I may want to breed with this as a pollen parent just to see if it breeds or not. We are still assuming JSC is even ploidy..just don't know 2n or 4n. I have trouble breeding with Phal Joy Dreamy Jade 'Joy no. 3'..but maybe the plant is young.
