The bottom one is about 5.7cm x 5.4cm. It smells a little like honeysuckle.

The one above was on a larger plant and was a little larger flower, but that flower is gone.

Hello!
I'm liking the flowers. They look like super luedde's to me. Can you tell me about the plants size. I'm have some from that cross myself & so I'm trying to gauge their progress.

Also does anyone know about the ploidity of the luedde used here??

Thanks
Steve

The leaf span on the first plant is around 12" and 8-10" for the plant of the second flower. Every seedling I have of this cross takes after the growing pattern of the luedde.

As far as I know there are only a couple lueddes that have been counted. One was diploid and one was tetraploid. Both came from Wu. So I'd say the ploidy of this one is anyone's guess. However, since the luedde here was used as the pollen parent, I'd think chances are high it is at least 2n or 4n and not something between. I could put the pollen from one of these flowers on something and see if we get seed to give us a high probability of knowing what it is. I don't have anything in bloom I want to use as a pod parent right now though.

Really like the 4th, but the third is still my favorite.

You know it's a great forum when you search for "bellina" and it returns this from the server:
