Phal Mem. Margarete Buchholz F1125
(gigantea 'Big Leaf Orchid #4' AM/AOS X corningiana 'Fernbrook' AM/AOS)

Finally ! The buds blasted this winter but it produced new buds. Haven't really noticed fragrance yet. Will wait for the flowers mature and open up more.

Looks like corningiana was pretty dominant here. Very nice.

I had almost the same thought - on the leaves you see gigantea influence better than on the flowers ;) Very beautiful plant and very cool flowers - is corningiana scent still present?

Awesome to see this Peter. I figured they would grow best for you. Mine all have the gigantea like grey coloring on the leaves. Still a bit far away from blooming though. I wish gigantea had been more dominant but I guess I'm not too surprised. Keep us posted on fragrance.

You know it's a great forum when you search for "bellina" and it returns this from the server:
"The following words in your search query were ignored because they are too common words: bellina."

This one is from Ken Avant.

Image

Ken is thinking the shape from gigantea will come out more in second generation .... and also some of the gigantea growth

This is my plant blooming this year. I didn't repot it so not much change in flower count.
