C. loddigesii 'Blue Sky' and serious question...

Post by WaltonInlet » Wed Jul 11, 2018 3:08 pm

This is grown by the increasingly venerable Keith Davis. I do not know how he keeps so many huge specimen plants in such a small greenhouse space, but that he does.

I asked Keith if I could post his photo here, and he eagerly agreed with one request:

Does anyone know where this cultivar came from? Stewart Orchids got the original award, but we suspect Stewart was not the originator of the plant. I have regrettably lost touch with Francisco Miranda, other than a very brief meeting at Redland year before this. Perhaps he would know...or perhaps y'all do?

Randy? [Let's face it: you have been around long enough to see the first blue-green algae form, let alone cattleyas...or so say the Fenders; surely you know the background on this?]

Ironicially, sorry for the small photo of a HUGENORMOUS plant.

Any intel?
Walton

I don't know where this originated. I'd ask Kurtis.

That will happen, if it has not already (Kurtis and Keith know each other well).

Thanks, Randy
