Grow Tent

Post by OrchidTess » Wed Jun 20, 2012 6:10 pm

I'm tired of the mites doing a number on my Phals every winter so I just ordered a Agromax Grow Tent.
I should have ordered the largest one but I didn't want to spend that money until I was sure it would make a difference.
Any thoughts or advice will be appreciated.

These are great Tess, as you know I used to grow in a similar tent. The Hydro-Hut Deluxe. The newer models are even better!

I looked the spec of this new model. It is much nicer than the one I got a few years ago.

Tess - you'll love it.

Awww...how nice. You got your better half to install it for you. It is exciting. I'm so happy for you. You made the right decision to get the smaller size. I had the 4x8 feet in my garage and it felt bulky so I took it down. But mostly because I have trouble maintaining - growing plants at 2 different locations. 1 greenhouse is all that I can manage at this point.

yes he's very mechanical and handy so I have him do the tricky stuff ;) It is that big....just looks small in the pics. Its not set up in its permanent spot yet.

Hi Mervin, I'm going to use the same T5 fluorescent fixtures that I have in use now.

Congrats Tesss, that's awesome. I know you will really enjoy it, and the orchids will too. Will you only be growing phals in here or will you be doing some different stuff? IMO, T5's are the way to go for the kind of thing we like and your plants will do well. You'll be able to fine tune the elements which can be fun. Good luck, keep us posted as you finish and bring plants in. Once you're all done, you might need a new treasure to cap it all off with! ;-)
