Very elegant, like a fine piece of silk clothing.

Re: Motivated Spider

Spiders are amazing. I love to watch them and their work. Imagine the scale of work this little guy has done. Like one little human building the Bay Bridge. Maybe he's protecting your orchids from predators (bugs, orchid thieves, etc.)!

Re: Phal with burgundy petals and white lip

Did not notice a fragrance. I bought three of them, and no fragrance on any of them. It's a striking flower, with the contrast of the dark petals and white lip.

Re: Curing This Phalaenopsis

The change is so drastic that it makes me think it was caused by too much light. As we enter Fall, the light coming through a window can become quite intense for a period before the weaker Winter light. Both in Spring and in Fall, the sun is lower in the sky and can burn some plants near windows tha...

Let's have more rebellion by growers against the ever changing nature of taxonomists! I'm not changing my name tags either!

Re: Phal. China Wonder

Here's a shot of my China Wonder, also from Al Pickerel, that I've had for three years. The tag says the cross is: (stobartiana ‘Popeye’s Sweetheart’ x violacea alba ‘Pebbles’). When it first opens, the green is even more pronounced and a bit darker. It's an extraordinary color. Mine has been happy ...

This Cattleya has the most wonderful fragrance, like lemon drop candy! It's one of my favorites.

Phal with burgundy petals and white lip

Picked this up yesterday. Upright spike with branching, flower 1 3/4 x 1 3/4 inches. I was stunned by the contrast of the dark, slightly reddish, burgundy petals and the truly white lip. Anyone know what it could be?

I think I read on a previous posting that Peter is working on getting a flask of this cross from someone in Germany. That would be good news!
