Re: New Software Installed - "Remember Me" Solved

After cleaning up from Dorian, I finally got a chance to do some thinking about this, and it turns out that I did it to myself: Many moons ago, I set up a browser home page with links to all my favorite sites. The one for here was the Phalaenopsis.net domain, so while it still directs me to the foru...

Re: F1605 Phalaenopsis Pylo's Fox

Just wanted to add that the one I currently have in bloom has a wonderful scent, as well.

Re: New Software Installed

I have Windows 10 Pro, 64 bit, build 1809 Chrome Version 76.0.3809.100 (Official Build) (64-bit) I had the very same problem with MS Edge... No, none of the other forums use phpbb. When I still had the "Official Semi-Hydroponics Forum" up, it used the same version of phpbb that you did before the re...

Re: New Software Installed

OK. So I deleted all cookies from bigleaforchids.com and there were none from phalaenopsis.net. Signed in and checked the "remember me" box. I exited my browser. Came back, and it still required me to sign in. I checked and there are three new bigleaf cookies, AND I added bigleaforchids.com to the "...

Re: Last of the flask F15-04

That left leaf shows vein depressions, suggesting desiccation, and I have seen purple coloration in plants in that condition, but never so uniform. I would suspect a disease before genetics.

Re: "Caerulea" Phals

Well, there you go, Rob. Sounds like time to hone the CRISPR skills and "sub out" some pigment-controlling genes.

Re:

Thanks for the reply, Rob.

That posted image is one of the best I've seen, as far as clarity of color is concerned.

"Caerulea" Phals

I hope I don't step on any toes here, but to me, many of the so-called "caeruleas" are really dirty looking, as if other pigments are "muddying" the coloration.

Shouldn't the genetics be reconsidered, and maybe come at the breeding from a different angle?

Some French Terrestrials

While in France, we climbed up a small mountain near Les Andelys to see Chateau Gallard, built in the late 1100's. On the way, I spotted a few terrstrials. http://www.firstrays.com/Pictures_orchids/FR/Chateau_Gallard_Les_Andelys.jpg Platanthera chlorantha http://www.firstrays.com/Pictures_orchids/FR...

Phalaenopsis Pylo's Flame

After seeing all of the beautiful reds in this cross, I decided I had to have one, so ordered two. Peter was kind enough to send one in-spike, and of course, it opened (outdoors, so bit bug-eaten) while I was in France. Not red, but I still think it's great. http://firstrays.com/Pictures_orchids/Pha...

Doesn't that suggest that the alba gene is recessive?
