Peter is being a little bit modest. Not only will he be there, he is a very important part of the program!
Peter will be making a presentation entitled "Novelty Phalaenopsis Hybridizing" right before the International Phalaenopsis Alliance Luncheon & Auction on Friday, October 31.

Actually, many of these post should have been under 16th International Slipper Symposium as a new topic. In any case, I decided to go at the last minute. Will arrive Thurs and depart Sunday morning. I'll be the guy with red hair and a pony tail, glasses and a mustache. Oh yea, some of that hair especially the mustache is part white. I'm also fairly heavily tattooed so I should be easy to spot. Please come over and say hi to me. I'm going alone this year. Also, I believe that Peter won't be vending so if anyone wants any of his great crosses you'll need to pre-order. I have a couple of list of what two of the vendors are bringing so if anyone wants a copy please let me know.

Hi all -
I had a great time at this AOS show in conjunction with Slipper Symposium. The hosting hotel is Sheraton and my goodness bed is very comfortable. I had no trouble sleeping.
Frank got a dozen awards - many of them phalaenopsis. Considering it's rather late in flowering season, it was such a treat. I took a few quick photos with my iphone. Many of them don't do the flower justice but I will post them a little bit later for those of you who did not get to attend.

DeafOrchidLover - I am sorry that I missed seeing you at this function. I left Saturday afternoon - and alas I missed the opportunity to attend BBQ and see Frank's greenhouse. Nonetheless I came home with 2 suitcases full of orchids, most of these are multiflora paph's. Come next spring I expect most of them to be flowering. :D

I was told that International Phalaenopsis Alliance is returning to Orlando in August for the annual symposium meeting. It's time for all to plan ahead.

Omg, that bellina with the CCE is quite an amazing sight, along with the other bellinas of course. Wish I could come to this event one day!

It was a great treat to attend. The hotel was indeed great and the combination between the two events made it really nice. As soon as I got home I told my wife that I'm going back in August for the IPA event. This event had so many great plants to chose from. I came home with a half suitcase packed with them, even purchased a inexpensive paph flask, yes paph not phal to work on. I can grow the phals. from flask but I'm not so good with the paphs. from flask.

Everyone sign up to go to the IPA Symposium next summer as it will back at Frank's. If you can't make it then, seems the Slipper Symposium is there every year.
