Lab for Phal. wilsonii seed?

Post by Moist von Lipwig » Fri Mar 30, 2012 6:20 pm

Hi all - I'm looking for a lab to grow my Phal. wilsonii seed I'll be getting this month. Also, would it be worth trying to get some treated to try for 4n? I don't know, so I'll let those with the knowledge and experience guide me.

Thanks for any and all input. :)

Thanks Judi, I've got them down as a possibility. I'm hoping for a few more possibilities, so I have a choice.

So if you get them treated, how will you know if you have a tetraploid? That is the reason I haven't done more colchicine treating. Its a pain and no reason to do it if I don't have anyone to count.

Better Blooming Orchids treats for ploidy and does counts for you too. I need to call them and have a chat. If I don't use them, I'm not sure if it is worth doing the treatment. I'm just not sure if the treating would be of any value for this species. I'm hoping that Dean will speak up, I may have to PM him.
