Phal flasking time question

Post by exasperatus2002 » Mon Nov 09, 2015 3:17 pm

I'm experienced with flasking Cattleya and am getting ready to make my first attempt with Phals. On average, how long do they stay in flask for, before I would receive them back from the lab, from sowing to deflasking? I send dry seed to my Lab, when I'm working with my Cattleya.

I looked at my records on phals. Around 17 months average - from sowing to deflasking. I had one at 14 months - a vigorous hybrid as I had a seedling spike at 7 months from deflasking. I would say it depends on the hybrid and growing conditions at the lab.

I would say normally starting around 16 months. Some might be faster and some might be slower.
